History
Computer Consulting System Services, LLC (CCSS) is the culmination of various efforts and experiences of William Pedersen and Tricia Treen Pedersen over the last 40 years or so, through several incarnations and evolutions of experience and life, up until today.
Bill has been involved in computers since he was in college at the University of Washington, Seattle. He studied oceanography and worked both in the Physics Department, where he was introduced to "mini" computers while working for a couple physicists (who eventually were both Nobel Laureates), and the Oceanography Department, where he was introduced to PDP-11s. His work in the Oceanography Department was effectively that of a consultant to scientists from around the world on how to use the timesharing system he supported and managed.
Eventually Bill went to work at Digital Equipment Corporation in California. When he left them to join a startup developing a hospital information system, he had risen to Regional Software Consulting Business Manager.
This was followed by his initial venture as an independent computer consultant which has pretty much been his life's effort since the early 1980s. There were other startups along the way, where he provided both engineering development expertise and engineering management. But the work of consultant has always been there as well and continues today.
